During our recent Q&A with guest host Linda Taylor of The Employee Relations Consultancy we were asked;
"How do I look after my employees' wellbeing when working from home or on furlough?"
Linda: "I think communication, really good communication. Making sure people are ok, keep in touch, tell them as much information as you can, even if it doesn’t seem like much information. Talk to them.
People on furlough can still train without breaching the furlough regulations, so there are all sorts of things really. I’d just say do as much as you can for the people on furlough to make them still feel part of the business or organisation. That way they don’t feel as though they have just been left and ignored.
As for those working from home, keep in contact, keep up regular team huddles. If and when we’re allowed can you meet up every now and then? The more that we can do to normalise things going forward the better."
